S2 E7 Mariana Belief Power and Beauty

Mariana Fernandes is a born and raised New Jersey girl, but this IFBB Pro athlete has tropical Brazilian blood running through her veins. Ever since Mariana was very young she has always been very active and attracted to this kind of lifestyle. At the age of 8, she became a part of a local dance company and pursued ballet, modern, jazz for the following 10 years of her life. However, when she got to Rutgers University she put her dancing aside and began focusing on her studies where she earned her degree in Psychology and a double minor in Public Health and Women & Gender Studies.

Nevertheless, in order to stay fit, she joined a local gym and began exploring different ways of staying in shape. At first, as any typical rookie to the gym, Mariana was completely intimated by the endless sea of equipment, which caused her to only stick to her comfort zone of treadmills and ellipticals. But with time she began exploring weight training and preparing for 5k races and obstacle challenges. When she began to realize how she was able to shape and mold her body to her liking she wanted to push herself even further. This was when she reached out to Bombshell Fitness and began preparing for her first NPC show.

February 2014 marked that date she first began to seriously prepare for her first NPC Show. From the moment she stepped on stage she knew she had found her calling and completely fell in love with the sport. Mariana pushed herself not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well making her grow in ways she had never expected. Her first show was in April 2014 and by her 5th show on July 2014 she was on the NPC National stage and earned her IFBB Pro Card as well as taking the title of Overall Bikini Champion.

Mariana is determined to continuously push her limits to see how far she can go. Her heart is all about fitness, having fun, and being adventurous. She loves to be able to inspire others and the biggest compliment she can receive is when someone tells her that she was the one that caused them to change their lives for the better.

Developer Bio

Rubber Arm Muscle Rub was developed by a former professional baseball player who has been working in the Biopharmaceutical Industry for the past 15 years. enny Wentz played high school football and baseball at Halifax County Senior High School where he was the starting quarterback and infielder/pitcher for the Blue Comets. After high school, Lenny was offered a baseball scholarship to Virginia Tech where he played from 1986 to 1990. In 1990, Lenny signed with the Cincinnati Reds and played in their organization until he was traded to the San Diego Padres in 1993. Shortly after that trade, Lenny suffered a career ending shoulder injury. He then became a high school teacher and head baseball coach at Amherst County High School. After teaching and coaching for 4 years, Lenny was offered a biopharmaceutical sales position. Lenny suffered a snow skiing accident in 1998 which tore the labrum muscle in his right hip. For years, Lenny
dealt with severe pain which limited his physical activity. Before the injury he was an avid runner, weight
lifter, and golfer. He could no longer enjoy these activities because of the pain they caused. In 2010, Lenny remembered an old family remedy his grandmother (who was a registered nurse) had introduced to him. In high school, he would rub the home remedy on after football and baseball games to help relieve his sore muscles. He thought that it might help with the current pain he was experiencing so he made a batch. The old home remedy worked! Because of his background in molecular and biochemistry, Lenny started looking at the ingredients and realized that with a few adjustments this muscle rub could be approved by the FDA and it could eventually help millions of people like him who suffer from muscle soreness and pain. That is how Rubber Arm Muscle Rub and Rubber Arm, Inc. began.

Born in Hartford, CT but basically grew up in Attleboro,

MA and graduated from Attleboro High School in 1997.
I attended Stonehill College in Easton,
MA and graduated with my degree in Marketing and a
Computer Information Systems Minor in 2001.
During college I worked several jobs simultaneously which included
driving limousines for wedding events, GNC Sales Associate and ran my own landscaping
business. In addition, I began doing some TFP modeling work which led to being
“discovered” by a talent scout while out on the town in Boston one night. Soon after I began
doing contract work for Candy Ford in Boston/NYC and included print, runway, fitness and
spokesperson work.

My love for bodybuilding and getting “big” put an end to my runway days but by that point I
was out of college and looking to start a career with my degree. Fast forward just over 10
years and I started competing in 2011 in the NPC in the newly formed MPD. AS they say
“the rest is history” and now I am pursuing my IFBB Pro Card in Physique and hope to
eventually start my own personal training, contest diet/prep business to help other achieve
their fitness goals.

Correction:

Calculating lbs. of body fat from the calculated percentage.
Weight: 123.4 % body fat: 7.45 123.4*.0745 = ~9.19 lbs. of body fat. Not even close to 70 lbs.
Sorry for my over stating.
